Impressionistic and modern techniques are transforming the face of China painting today. These two styles bring a new freedom and flexibility to the porcelain artist in the interpretation of natural subjects. Above is an Iris painted in the impressionistic style with modern techniques of fused dichroic glass, raised enamel and gold giving an extra dimension to the piece.

Below is a dish full of colour and movement painted in the impressionistic style.

On this site, I'm going to share my China Painting with you. I'll give a bit of history on the subject itself, as well as some background on how I got involved in it. I will include some instructions as well as any tips or tricks I've acquired through the years. And, of course, I'll include lots of pictures of the results of my painting or of me enjoying myself doing it.
